At first, it seems that this barren, desolate land could hold no interest to the world, but in reality there are many parties interested in what Antarctica has to offer.

But, the nature of these attractions is rather exotic and kept under a strict veil of secrecy. In fact, if anyone held some interest in this southernmost continent, it would probably be because one of the world’s best-preserved secrets is kept buried under there.

Unlike the Arctic region, which consists of a series of islands scattered across an ice cap above the Arctic Ocean, Antarctica is a veritable continent with icy mountains and land forms buried beneath kilometers of frozen water.

For modern man, Antarctica is a relatively novel land. The actual landmass had been discovered in 1911 by the Norwegians. Twelve states had further asembled expeditions that came back with rewarding results.

The Antarctic Treaty from 1959 had suddenly put a hold to any exploitations that were about to occur in the region, and suddenly Antarctica was declared a safe heaven.

It was something that they had encountered there that made them act in the detriment of of their national interest, considering that a reservoire of untouched natural resources was lying about.

The initial treaty had been signed by twelve states that were previously active in the Antarctic during the International Geophysical Year, among them reminding the US, the Soviet Union, Japan, Norway, the UK, Argentina and France.

Since then, the interested parties have coined a really dull and tedious image of this unexplored continent.

First scientific expeditions from the 90s returned with evidence showing that Antarctica had once been a tropical paradise. But, according to modern scholars, that was around 14 million years ago, and on top of that, they have no clue how the ice came about.

And here’s where we can first smell the cover-up. Not long ago, two ancient maps of Antarctica were discovered, both showing the continent without its massive ice sheet. The Orontius Finaeus is one of these documents. It pictures Antarctica while ice-free, with land forms such as mountain ranges, valleys and rivers.

What’s interesting is that, prior to the Chinese detailed radar survey from 2005, scientists knew more about the geography of the Martian surface than of the Earth’s own South Pole.

When comparing the detailed survey to the Orontius Finaeus map, it all matched almost perfectly. The mountains were there, the valleys, and the shape of Antarctica was also accordingly.

And thus the following questions have arisen: Could Antarctica have been a tropical paradise much earlier than what mainstream scholars have suggested? Were humans mounting expeditions to this land when it had been warm and had supported life?

If so, than there’s a great discrepancy between the timeline presented by scientists and the actual reality. Based on the aforementioned maps, but not limited to that, the Antarctic region could have been a hospitable place not millions, but rather tens of thousands, if not thousands of years ago.

Is there a pole shift missing from this equation? A great cataclysm that had triggered the cooling mechanism of Antarctica? Or rather a huge anomaly that’s been resting beneath the ice for ages, keeping the continent frozen for some unknown and truly bewildering reason?

The luminous appearance showed up on February 28, at about 6:30 AM, just before the Sun was about to rise over Hobart, capital city of Tasmania. People witnessing the bizarre sighting took their time recording the event, as they were unaware of what was happening up there.

To reach some answers about it’s possible origins and nature, the footage was uploaded on the internet and people soon started coming up with all sorts of hypothesis, ranging from signs of the upcoming arrival of Nibiru, to alien saucers, meteorites and space debris.

As the situation was getting tensed, Tasmanian authorities decided to spoil the fun by debunking the video in the most obvious way. Their official explanation – an airplane with its contrails lit by the Sun’s rays.

On the other hand, University of Tasmania’s head of the School of Physical Sciences, John Dickley, believes the bizarre object might be a piece of space junk re-entering the atmosphere.

It’s definitely not a meteorite. They tend to look more like shooting stars. I wouldn’t call it a contrail of a plane either,” he concluded.

So, could this really be a jet airliner crossing the morning sky? I believe this to be unlikely for the following reasons: the sky should hold other traces of airplanes passing by, but it seems like this one is solitary; no other traces of dispersed contrails on the sky; if you do a google search for “airplane lit by sunlight,” or anything related to that, you will only see the picture of the bright object in this article.

If airplanes would light up like that, I believe more people would post similar sightings on the internet, which is the best place where you could receive a straight answer. Apart from this, the bright object bears almost no resemblance to an airplane, except for the trail left behind that’s similar to contrails.

According to one eyewitness, the strange fireball streaking across the sky had various curious traits.

It was very slow moving, not like the high jets I’ve seen before. I got out the binoculars and thought it must be a meteorite,” Ms Peters said. “I was sure it was something burning up from space…but now, I am sure it was just a plane with the sunrise highlighting its contrails,” she added.

With all this pressure from the media, it’s understandable that Ms. Peters wouldn’t want anyone to call her names, so she offered the most convenient conclusion in the end. However, the Tasmanian fireball doesn’t seem to fit in the airplane’s description.

It’s curious that Tasmanian authorities tried to cool the heat off by delivering the jet airliner explanation, although numerous people share contrary beliefs. Are they trying to hide a more unconventional reality? If so, what do you think to be the case?

The intriguing picture has been available to the public for some time now, and it has been subject of deliberation ever since it was first published on the internet in 2010. Since then, researchers have come up with various hypothesis as to what the bizarre formations visible in the picture could be.

However, the official answer wasn’t sufficient for the UFO community that, after closely analyzing the material, has reached a controversial conclusion, opposite to what the scientific community believes. So, what’s so strange about the NASA picture you might wonder?

Let’s begin with what the UFO community has to say about it. The highlighted image shows anomalous areas over the a portion of the arid dunes of Mars. When zooming in, their features become clearer, and reveal a strong similarity to the trees found on our planet. There are also silvery areas surrounding them, considered by analysts to be the remains of frozen water imbued on the surface.

Opinions between the two sides are divided. Scientists pretend that the unusual dingy lines are simple streaks of material sliding down the edge of the sand dunes resulted due to carbon dioxide frost evaporation. NASA also admits to ‘adjusting’ the image so that the murky streaks appear more prominent. But is the scientific community’s explanation to be trusted?

Various analysts have pointed out that the strong resemblance between the dark plots and trees is a clear indicator of life still evolving on the Martian surface. Their claims are fueled by NASA’s recent announcement of liquid water on the Martian surface, after more than a decade after its initial discovery. The ensemble of unordinary artifacts seen on the Red Planet is another reason to consider the trust in official explanations as an unhealthy practice.

To further dismantle the ‘tree hypothesis,’ skeptics have asked about the leafs that should had been present the picture but, at the same time, they have answered the question. Knowing that Mars used to harbour the ideal conditions for life to develop in the distant past , and understanding that this habitable past wasn’t as far as they want us to believe may provide the answer.

In other words, the presumed trees may have no leafs on both their branches and on the soil because they are already decomposed, with the wind scattering any remaining traces of leaves across the desolate Martian dunes, blending them with the sandy terrain. If this proves to be true, than life on Mars may have ended sooner rather than later, and there is consistent evidence to support this claim

YouTube user ‘Thor’ has brought more evidence in support to the Martian trees hypothesis by adding that “there are almost identical geographic formations in the tundra of Siberia. Now there is unequivocal proof that high salinity, liquid water does exist on Mars it’s guaranteed that the geological and meteorological processes that cause these formations on Earth are replicated on the surface of Mars too.”
